Why not put color in the dark areas of your paintings? I never use tube black or grays but mix my own and add spots of unexpected color in the darks. I like to make mixes in my journal of colorful darks, experimenting with different color mixes. A dark window creates a perfect backdrop to show off a beautiful flower box filled with blooms.
