Coloring Books Meet Mixed Media

Coloring Books Meet Mixed Media

The new Cloth, Paper Scissor’s Coloring Book,  Coloring Book Sketchbook, offers more than other coloring books.  Not only does it offer various mixed media art techniques, but it is a collection of sketches from many different artists, including one of my sketches of an old Italian door.  In her blog post, Jeannine Stein, shows how she uses mixed media to color my sketch of the door.
It was an honor to be asked to contribute sketches for the book and an honor to have Jeannine use mine sketch as a demo!

Here photos of how Jeannine Stein colored my door sketch:

Italian Memories – A Peak Inside Our Journals

Italian Memories – A Peak Inside Our Journals

Snow is falling softly outside.  I am at home in Oregon and I am finally getting around to share with you some of our beautiful, fun watercolor journals from our week with Adventures in Italy, September 2014.  We painted, played, lifted, cut and pasted, stamped, and just generally created wonderful artistic memories!
Here are some photos from our fabulous watercolor / mixed-media journals:

Getting Ready for CREATE, Chicago!

Getting Ready for CREATE, Chicago!

I love collecting artistic tools to put in the goody bags that I give to my students.  I love meeting new artistic friends and catching up with old ones.  I love sharing what I have learned over the years about how to paint beautiful, colorful, glowing paintings and filling art journals with watercolor paintings and mixed media.  I love CREATE!
